2 INTERESTING EXHIBITIONS, SAME VENUE, SAME DATES

 A Mexican experience coming to Weymouth. In collaboration with the Lantern Trust. Enjoy our two FREE ENTRY exhibitions: 

‘Hope ’ : Art exhibition by clients of the Lantern Trust who are very much part of our community, helping to dispel the negative attitude towards victims of homelessness, enabling clients to feel proud of their contribution to the community and showcase their talents. There will be artworks on display created by the clients including portraits, photography and sculpture. 

‘Mexican Experience’: A vibrant collection of work inspired by Mexico, created by local artists including Mexican artist and organiser Silvia Pineda. Come and learn about Mexican culture. The exhibition will include informative displays on Mexican art, culture, folklore, flora, and fauna-brought to life with both 2D and 3D artworks. Many art pieces have been created for the displays including a 180 cm (70″) sculpture. One of the displays will be a traditional ‘Día de los Muertos’ (Day of the Dead) shrine. 

You are invited to our FREE ENTRY Opening Event!

On August 18th at 5pm come to our opening event celebrating Mexican culture and art. There will be a demonstration of the vibrancy of Mexican dance and a talk about Mexican Art and Culture. 

There will be an opportunity to try some Mexican food (proceeds to benefit the Lantern Trust charity). 

Don’t worry if you can’t come to the opening event, our exhibitions run for 2 weeks and there is plenty to see. 

Children’s Art Competition:

A chance for children to create Mexican-inspired art during the exhibition, with materials provided on site on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays from 11 to 1 and Sundays 12-2pm. The created art will be entered in a competition. Winners will get a certificate by email. CHILDREN TO BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES

Both exhibitions will run side by side From 18th to 31th August, (opening hours 11 to 4) at Holy Trinity Church, Trinity Road, Weymouth, DT4 8TJ. Just by the Town Bridge. Handy car park nearby. North Quay Car Park, Dt4 8TA.
